What is it?: Helping lead the congregation in worship during services.
Frequency: As often as you’d like.
Time Commitment: An 8pm practice on the Wednesday night before the Sunday you’re playing and an 8.30am arrival on the day.
Sound Desk
What is it?: Helping lead the congregation in worship during services by mixing the sound for the musicians/vocalists. Frequency: As often as you’d like. Time Commitment: An 8pm practice on the Wednesday night before the Sunday you’re playing and an 8.30am arrival on the day.
Data Show
What is it?: Helping lead the congregation in worship during services by ensuring everyone can see the words to sing, playing videos, etc. Frequency: As often as you’d like. Time Commitment: An 8pm practice on the Wednesday night before the Sunday you’re playing and an 8.30am arrival on the day.
Flower Arranging
What is it?: Creating a beautiful worship space for our community. Frequency: As often as you’d like. Time Commitment: Depends a bit on the arrangement – up to you!
Setting up Communion
What is it?: Preparing communion for the community. Frequency: Once a month. Time Commitment: 20 minutes or so before the service
Bible Reading
What is it?: Reading the assigned Bible passage during a service. Frequency: As often as you’d like. Time Commitment: You’ll receive the passage during the week from the service leader, then it’d be good to look through it before you read on Sunday.
Creative Ministries
What is it?: Developing creative means of engagement in our services.
Frequency: As often as you’d like. Time Commitment: Up to you!
Spiritual Growth

Prayer Ministry
What is it?: Praying for others in our community. Frequency: The team meets before services and some people are rostered on after services too. Time Commitment: Will fluctuate a bit depending on how many might seek prayer, but perhaps 10-30mins after a service.
Small Group Hosting
What is it?: Opening your home for a small group to meet. Frequency: Depends on how often the group meets, but most meet once a fortnight. Time Commitment: Depends on how long the group wants to meet, but usually a couple of hours. You might like to provide some food or hot drinks too.
Small Group Leading
What is it?: Leading or coordinating leaders for a small group. Frequency: Depends on how often the group meets, but most meet once a fortnight. Time Commitment: If you’re leading every group, it might take some time preparing for a discussion, maybe as much as an hour beforehand. Material can be provided for you though. If you’re coordinating the rotation of leaders, this time commitment would be much less.

Morning Tea After Services
What is it?: Providing hospitality to our community after services Frequency: As often as you’d like. Time Commitment: Roughly 45mins after services
Barista (Beaumaris Only)
What is it?: Providing hospitality to our community after services by running the coffee machine. Frequency: As often as you’d like. Time Commitment: Roughly a half hour before the service and 45mins afterward.
Welcoming
What is it?: Providing hospitality to our community by greeting people as they arrive and catching up with new people after the service. Frequency: As often as you’d like. Time Commitment: Roughly 15mins before the service starts and perhaps a half hour afterward.
Meals Care Ministry
What is it?: Providing care to those in our community who are going through a difficult time. Frequency: Relatively infrequent, but might require a couple of meals in a row as the need arises. Time Commitment: Depends on what you’d like to cook, but doesn’t need to be anything too elaborate.
Visiting Lonely or Unwell People
What is it?: Providing care to those in our community who might not be able to make a service because of their age or health. Frequency: As often as you’d like, but not less frequent than once a month. Time Commitment: Perhaps an hour at a time.
Youth Ministry

Mentor a Young Person
(A WWCC and SCAW is required for this)
What is it?: Providing unconditional friendship to a young person. Frequency: As often as the two of you agree upon, but not less frequent than once a month. Time Commitment: An hour at a time.
Youth Lifegroup Team
(A WWCC and SCAW is required for this)
What is it?: Helping lead the Friday night youth lifegroup. Frequency: Every two weeks during the term. Time Commitment: Roughly three hours a fortnight.
Outreach

Playgroup
Set up/Pack up
What is it?: Supporting the playgroup ministry by setting up and packing up the equipment. Frequency: 2-3 times a term. Time Commitment: Either 9-9.30 before a session or 11.30-12 after session, Monday-Thursday
Morning Tea
What is it?: Caring for playgroup families by providing morning tea. Frequency: 2-3 times a term. Time Commitment: From 10-11am, Monday-Thursday.
Story-telling
What is it?: Reading to playgroup kids during a playgroup session. Frequency: 2-3 times a term. Time Commitment: From 10.30-11am, Monday-Thursday.
Crafts
What is it?: Providing a craft activity for kids during a playgroup session. Frequency: 2-3 times a term. Time Commitment: From 9.30-11.30am, Monday-Thursday.
Grandparent Roles
(A WWCC is required for this)
What is it?: Providing a grandparent-type relationship to young families in playgroup Frequency: 2-3 times a term during the playgroup sessions, but ideally the relationship might grow with one family to include some time spent outside playgroup. Time Commitment: From 9.30-11.30am, Monday-Thursday, but may also include some time outside playgroup sessions.
Catalyst Team
What is it?: Catalyst partners with Baptist World Aid to advocate for social justice issues within our church community. Frequency: The team meets once a term and tries to bring one focus to the church a term as well. Time Commitment: Roughly an hour and a half meeting once a term, plus some other activities as required.
Support Services
Ministry Leader Margaret Sheldon
Communications Team
What is it?: Developing a communications strategy for the church including branding, signage, etc. Frequency: Unsure at this point in time. Time Commitment: Initially it may require some regular meetings, but this will taper off as a strategy becomes implemented.
Property – Odd Jobs and Handiwork
What is it?: Helping out with odd jobs that need doing around the church property. Frequency: Will vary depending on the need. Time Commitment: Depends on the job at hand.
Mowing/Gardening
What is it?: Helping maintain the church properties. Frequency: Depends on the season and the number of other volunteers. Time Commitment: Depends on which property you’re working on, but usually a couple of hours when rostered on
Finance
(A Police Check and SCAW is required for this)
What is it?: Supporting the finance ministry area by counting offering, depositing it in the bank, potentially other things depending on level of financial experience. Frequency: Weekly offering needs to be counted, and other things as need arises. Time Commitment: A small time commitment with room for more time depending on level of financial experience.
Children’s and Families’ Ministry

What is it?: Building a prayer partnership with a young person in our church community. Frequency: Greeting your partner at every service and asking for prayer requests from their parents regularly, as well as regular time spent in prayer for them. Time Commitment: Perhaps a couple of ten minute conversations a week and then some time in prayer

What is it?: Praying for the kids’ ministry. Frequency: You’ll receive a monthly email of prayer requests and come to a meeting once a term Time Commitment: As much as you’d like to dedicate to it, plus an hour long meeting once a term.

What is it?: Running a five minute kids’ talk during a service. Frequency: Once a term. Time Commitment: Some time spent in preparation of a talk based around the theme of the sermon, plus the time running the talk
